In comparison with the housing for a remodel recessed can fixture that is typically supported by pushing metal clips through the housing onto the top of the ceiling—the drywall or plaster. Canopy is 8.25" wide.

Read instructions before installation. The install is easy, but you really need to read the troubleshooting. The canopy was was the only tough part... to get it to stay put.... however, after reading over and over that part of the troubleshooting, figured it out.

Awesome, love that this covers up canned lights, as I don't think canned lights are attractive. The perfect piece and easy to install.
